Ministry of Finance adjusted the preferential import tax on some food products

Ministry of Finance has approved No.52/2009/TT-BTC Circular on adjusting preferential import tax on some products in Preferential Import Tariff. Accordingly, import taxes on some food products, mainly fresh or frozen beef, pork are adjusted. In details, the tax on fresh beef increased to 33%, 20% for beef having bone and 17% for beef without bone. While the tax on frozen beef increased to 20%. The tax on fresh and frozen pork is 28% and particularly 24% for frozen pork. The taxes on other food products were levied at 10-15% depending on each kind. Ministry of Finance also reduced the tax on Whey - a material used in processing milk, food for man and animals to 0% instead of the current level 2%.
