News from HCM Garment and Textile Association informed that Uniqlo Corporation - leading Japanese garment importer and distributor has planned to make an investigation mission to HCM City to research and promote with 50 prestigious garment enterprises in the city in the coming time. Because of receiving tax preference in Vietnam-Japan Trade Agreement, many importers have changed a part of their units from China to Vietnam. In first 2 months of 2009, only the number of order forms exporting to Japan has increased while these to America and EU decreased. It is known that, in 2008, the export of garment sector to Japan reached 820 million USD, increased 16% compared with 2007. It is expected, export turnover of garment to Japan in 2009 will raise 20% compared with 2008.
